BACTOZOL ™ KIT AND BACTOZOL ENZYME SOLUTION ™
REAGENTS FOR BACTERIAL LYSIS AND BACTERIAL DNA ISOLATION
Molecular Research Center, Inc. is pleased to introduce the BACTOZOL™ KIT for isolation of DNA from gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
The Bactozol Kit procedure produces high quality bacterial genomic and plasmid DNA with a simple and efficient protocol. The Kit includes sufficient reagents for 125 procedures, each yielding up to 40 ug of DNA.
The kit includes:
- 10X Bactozol Enzyme Solution™. Bactozol Enzyme Solution is a novel solution containing activated lysozyme for the most effective lysis of a broad range of bacterial specimens. It is supplied as a convenient 10X stock solution that maintains enzyme stability at room temperature and precludes the need for daily preparations of lysosyme stock solutions.
- Bactozol Enzyme Solution Dilution Buffer and
- DNAzol®. After bacterial lysis with 1X Bactozol Enzyme Solution, DNA is isolated from the lysate with DNAzol.

DNA(ug/lane) isolated from gram-negative (1) Escherichia coli, (2) Citrobacter braakii, (3) Agrobacterium rhizogenes and gram-positive (4) bacillus subtillis, (5) Micrococcus luteus.
10X Bactozol Enzyme Solution™ (cat. no. BZ 160) also may be purchased separately. After lysing bacteria with Bactozol Enzyme Solution, you may apply any DNA or protein isolation method appropriate to your research needs.
