3. HEALTH HAZARD IDENTIFICATION

 

 Avoid all unnecessary exposure to any laboratory chemical as part of a good personal laboratory safety hygiene program.



4. FIRST AID

 

EYE CONTACT: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for 15 minutes.

 

SKIN CONTACT: Remove contaminated clothing.  Wash skin with soap and water for 15 minutes.

 

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

 

INGESTION: Wash out mouth with water, provided person is conscious. Call a physician.

Extinguishing media: water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or foam.  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.  May emit toxic fumes under fire conditions.

Wear chemical safety goggles, rubber boots, and impervious gloves. Clean up spill, hold in sealed bags for disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site.

Personal protective equipment: wear eye protection, impervious gloves and lab coat. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation.  Use in area where safety shower and eye bath station are accessible.
